Hourly Rate Structure
Dr. Javed charges a standard hourly rate for all forensic toxicology consulting services, with transparent, itemized billing.
- Standard Hourly Rate: $500 per hour
- Initial Retainer: $2,000 (applied to final invoice)
- Billing: Hourly basis with itemized invoices, billed at the end of each month
- Travel Expenses: Billed at cost plus time
What's Included in Hourly Billing
All case-related activities are billed at the hourly rate, including:
- Case review and documentation of medical records, autopsy documents, and toxicology reports
- Review of depositions and case materials
- Case-related communication (phone, email, document processing)
- Research and retrieval of relevant scientific or medical literature
- Preparation of written expert reports
- Consultation with counsel regarding toxicological findings
- Deposition, hearing, or trial testimony
Additional Terms
- Travel: Travel time and expenses for on-site visits are billed at cost plus the standard hourly rate.
- Cancellation: A cancellation fee of 4 hours ($2,000) applies if an engagement is canceled with less than 72 hours notice.
- Payment Terms: Invoices are due upon receipt.
Engagement Process
- Initial Consultation: Dr. Javed reviews your inquiry and schedules a confidential consultation to assess your needs and determine the scope of work.
- Retainer Agreement: An initial $2,000 retainer is required to begin work. This retainer is applied toward your final invoice for services rendered.
- Engagement & Documentation: Work begins upon receipt of the signed agreement and retainer. All time is documented and presented in detailed, itemized invoices.
- Billing & Payment: Billing takes place at the end of each month with itemized invoices. Invoices are due upon receipt.
